WORKING ALONGSIDE YOUR VETERINARY TEAM

A collaborative approach to rehabilitation

We work alongside veterinary professionals to support recovery, restore function and maintain mobility following diagnosis, injury or surgery.

Veterinary history and our own physiotherapy assessment are used to develop an individualised rehabilitation plan for each patient.

We maintain clear communication throughout rehabilitation, providing updates and reports and highlighting any concerns that require further veterinary input.

REFERRING A PATIENT

What to expect

01

Veterinary information and consent

For remedial physiotherapy, treatment must be carried out under the direction of a veterinary surgeon who has examined the animal and prescribed physiotherapy, in accordance with the Veterinary Surgery (Exemptions) Order 2015.

We obtain the relevant clinical information before treatment begins, including diagnosis, history, imaging or surgical information, medication and any restrictions or recommendations. If an owner contacts us directly, we can liaise with their veterinary practice to obtain the relevant information and consent where appropriate.

02

Physiotherapy assessment

We assess the patient alongside their veterinary history, considering movement, musculoskeletal function and rehabilitation needs.

03

Individualised rehabilitation

We develop a treatment and rehabilitation plan based on the assessment findings, veterinary recommendations and the patient’s needs.

04

Communication and progress

We monitor progress throughout rehabilitation, providing updates or reports where appropriate and highlighting any concerns requiring further veterinary input.
